A quick post from Pearson, Toronto, en route to Johannesburg, via Amsterdam. Rob flies out on Monday to join me, connecting through Munich.
A week’s work in Pretoria, with my UK colleague on the EU-SA Skills Dialogue project – Professor Mike Campbell. Already I have learned a lot from Mike, and I expect to learn more. And we get on – at least on Skype and FaceTime and email – like a house on fire. It will be good to meet him in person.
And then we are off – Rob and I. Kruger Park, Cape Town, Montague, the Cedarberg. My children and their partners. My mother. Braais and red wine and laughter.
And the smell of the bush, the hard rain hitting the dust, the quality of light. Man, it feels good to be home, even if I’m still travelling.
Just a brief reminder: When in the Kruger, remember that mother elephants may have cranky children. And watch out for the @#^#&^* baboons. 😉
You might not recognise me with a green face, blowing kisses to Old Place!!
